Paul Buhré Automatic Bidynator circa 1950

Paul Buhré was one of the first watchmaking companies in Europe. It was founded by Karl Buhré, a Russian businessman of German origin. At first, the Buhré watch company was located exclusively in St. Petersburg. In 1874, the watch factory moved to Switzerland to Locle.

This watch is equipped with an automatic Bidynator movement from Felsa. Why Bidynator? Because this movement featured bidirectional automatic winding via its rotor, a world first in 1942. This construction provides a number of new solutions. It takes an avant-garde place and will become, thanks to its technical characteristics, a real model influencing future constructions.
