Rado Green Horse Lady circa 1960
It was in 1917, in Longeau in Switzerland, that the history of the watchmaking company began. At this time the Fritz siblings decided to create a watch movement factory. Forty years later, in 1957, the manufacture created its first collection under the name Rado. It was truly in 1962 that Rado acquired its reputation with the emblematic DiaStar 1. Considered the first scratch-resistant watch, this model revolutionized the watch industry by introducing hard metal and sapphire crystal.
