Ulysse Nardin is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1846 by Ulysse Nardin, a watchmaker passionate about precision and innovation. The brand specialized in marine chronometers, essential instruments for navigation at the time. Ulysse Nardin won numerous awards and medals for the quality and accuracy of its watches, notably at the London International Exhibition in 1862. After Ulysse Nardin's death in 1876, his son Paul-David Nardin took over the company and continued to develop high-performance watches, such as tilt and anchor chronometers. The brand also created watches with complications, such as minute repeaters, astrolabes, planetariums and telluriums.
