Vintage Rolex 6694 Champagne Watch: The Overhaul

Joshua Grillet

Let's talk about this beautiful Rolex 6694.

This Oyster has had a long and successful life in the Rolex range. The 6694 reference was introduced in the early 1960s and remained in production until the late 1980s. A fine career.

For me, it's the perfect watch for collectors taking their first steps into the world of Rolex. Relatively inexpensive, it still has that Rolex DNA with its Cyclops lens and Oyster bracelet. Suitable for both dressy and casual looks, this watch is definitely a no-brainer.

The one on the workbench today has a champagne-colored dial and dates from 1972. Mechanically and aesthetically, this watch is in good condition, but since its maintenance history is unknown, I prefer to have it serviced.
