Omega Vintage Constellation “C” Blue 168.0056 caliber 1011 watch: Refurbishment

Joshua Grillet

Let's talk a little about this beautiful Constellation and its rare, finely brushed blue dial.

The Constellation range was launched by Omega in 1952. The movements are chronometer-certified and the case backs are engraved with the image of the Geneva Observatory and eight stars.

These watches are elegant, precise, and beautifully finished.

The model we are interested in here is reference ST 168.0056 and dates from the early 1970s. The case shape is known as “C Shape” on this reference, a variation on the cushion case. A brushed bezel and chamfers are also featured, creating a beautiful play of light across the whole piece. The movement is an Omega 1011 chronometer with quick date and stop seconds.

Condition report

From an aesthetic point of view, this watch is in good condition. Only the glass is missing; it is scratched and will need to be replaced.

Mechanically, this watch runs very well, but a thorough cleaning and fresh oil would not go amiss.
