Hamilton Ricoh Electric 555E circa 1960
Hamilton Ricoh Electric 555E circa 1960
In 1962, Hamilton created a joint venture with Japanese manufacturer Ricoh, known for its photocopiers and cameras. They were looking to take advantage of Japan's booming economy. The movements were based on the Vantage 130E caliber and shared many parts with the Hamilton 505. These watches were manufactured at the Hamilton factory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, but sold exclusively on the Asian market, which explains their rarity in other regions today. The case is larger than typical Hamilton Electric models. This example is in excellent condition, almost like new.
