Rado Green Horse Lady circa 1960
It was in 1917, in Longeau, Switzerland, that the story of this watchmaking house began. At the time, the Fritz siblings decided to create a watch movement factory. Forty years later, in 1957, the manufacture launched its first collection under the name Rado. It was truly in 1962 that Rado gained its fame with the iconic DiaStar 1. Considered the first scratch-resistant watch, this model revolutionized the watchmaking industry by introducing hard metal and sapphire crystal.
