Seiko Diver 7002-7001 JDM from 1990
Seiko Diver 7002-7001 JDM from 1990
The Seiko 7002 Diver, produced from 1988 to 1996, marks an important transition in the history of dive watches from the Japanese brand. Heir to the robust 6309 and precursor to the iconic SKX007, it retains the essentials: true 150m water resistance, a screw-down crown, a unidirectional bezel, and a functional design built for diving. Its 41mm case, more angular and modern, remains comfortable on the wrist, while its no-day dial is more visually balanced. Powered by the automatic calibre 7002, reliable and extremely robust, it embodies the Seiko spirit: efficiency without frills. Long underestimated, the 7002 now appeals for its neo-vintage style and relative accessibility… provided you can find one that is 100% original, as models with aftermarket parts are rife. Which is very much the case with the example presented today!
